Recipe: Baked Gala Apples with Cinnamon and Maple Syrup
- 4 Gala apples
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Core the Gala apples and cut a small slice off the bottom of each apple to create a stable base.
- In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, maple syrup, and ground cinnamon.
- Place the apples in the baking dish and brush the cinnamon mixture evenly over each apple.
- If desired, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans over the top of each apple.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the tops are golden.
- Remove the baked Gala apples from the oven and let them cool slightly.
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a delightful treat.
